Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th August 2024

•                Interested in unravelling the mysteries behind crafting impactful abstract compositions and non-objective painting?

•                Explore Composition & Design through PLAY rather than the headiness of grasping theoretical concepts?

•                Looking to discover the untapped potential of mixed media collage, explore vibrant surfaces and create unique handmade collage papers?

•                Looking to break free from the grip of perfectionism? Embrace creativity through playful exploration and discover how to let your paintings guide you forward.

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then this 2-day experimental mixed collage art workshop is ideal for you! It caters to both beginners and experienced artists who are looking to enhance their understanding of composition and design.

Discover playful approaches and a multitude of mixed media collage techniques, to craft mini abstracts using the magic of release paper. These creations will spark ideas for larger artworks in your own unique style! Enhance your ability to connect with your paintings as they evolve, and become more confident in reaching a place of balance, harmony, and completion in your art.

A message from the artist… “I fell in love with abstract art many moons ago, thinking they were something I could whip up. Once I set sail in my own painting practice, I quickly discovered they were far more complex than I had first imagined:). Artistic deception at its finest! Over the next two decades, my persistent nature (obsessed with mixed media and abstracts), faced many challenges and setbacks as I worked diligently to better understand this art form.

With each challenge, my determination grew to distil my insights into simple lessons to help fellow artists navigate this topic smoothly. Now, I’m excited to share what I've learned along the way, including a major turning point in my own creative approach to art making; embracing a 'perfectly imperfect' mindset, prioritising play, experimentation and mindfulness in every Layer. My ultimate goal? To support artists to be a little kinder to themselves, enhance creative confidence and discover the joy of abstraction and mixed media”.
